SEPTEMBER FEATURED WAHMS
This month, we're back to two featured wahms. Check out the following profiles and see if either of these businesses is something you'd like to pursue. Thanks to Amy Guenther and Kim Brenner for sharing these wonderful opportunities with us!
Featured Wahm #1
NAME: Amy Kay Guenther
COMPANY: Freebie Force
Tell us about the company and what your job consists of: Freebie Force gives members access to great freebies for $9.95 per month. I can build a business by referring others.
How many hours do you work per week, on average? I'm doing it very part time, only 2-3 hours per week. The more time and effort one puts into it, the greater their income will be. But even when you don't actively work, you still earn the residual income!
What is your average weekly income? Weekly income is about $8 right now. Plus freebies!
The best part of the job: The freebies! They are worth much more than the monthly cost of membership.
Most challenging part of the job: It can be difficult to determine which method of promoting the business will be most effective. I spent a lot of money on one method that reaped little result. Now, I know that the free methods are actually the best methods for getting the word out.
Thing you love most about the product(s): Free stuff, of course! Each day they add links to more free things you can get. Last night, I used a coupon to get items at the Body Shop. And I can use that coupon over and over!
Why should other moms consider looking into working for this company? This company won't make you rich in a few months, but it can certainly give you some extra money, with little effort. People love free stuff, and will join even if they don't want to pursue the business, so it's very easy to refer others. I'm not making a lot of money yet, but I JUST started, and even took time off to have a baby.

Featured Wahm #2
NAME: Kim Brenner
COMPANY: AVON
How long have you been with Avon? I have been with Avon off and on for about five years. I recently came back after realizing that Avon is the perfect company for me.
What does your job consists of? Meeting new people and sharing Avon's quality products and business opportunity. My customers know they will get that special one-on-one personal service. Or, some prefer to order online 24/7. I offer free delivery to my local area or direct delivery by Avon for a very small fee.
How many hours do you work per week, on average, including all aspects of the job? This varies. I submit orders every two weeks and work my own schedule depending on my energy level for the day. Avon truly fits my lifestyle of living with a chronic illness. I probably average about 15 hours a week.
What does the Avon Payment Plan/Incentive Program consist of? With Avon, the earnings are based on size of order and a Representative can earn anywhere from 20-50% commissions.
The best part of the job: Avon is a household name with quality products that I feel confident sharing with everyone I meet. Avon is wonderful as it allows me to make friends and get paid to do it! With Avon, it's only $10.00 to join, and so easy to become a Representative with a well known and respected company. Avon also offers a 100% guarantee!
Most challenging part of the job: The most challenging part for me is that it's frustrating when people say, "no thanks," just because they think Avon is only lipstick. We offer many other quality products and once those people take time to browse through a brochure, they are often pleasantly surprised.
The thing you love most about the product(s): All of the products - from skin care to household items - truly are top quality. The prices are very reasonable and fit into everyone's budget. My entire family uses Avon products and love the quality and value we receive.
Why should other moms consider looking into working for this company? Avon is a world leader in anti-aging skin care products, fragrance, and color cosmetics. Its product line includes beauty products, fashion jewelry and apparel and features many well-recognized brand names such as Avon Color, Anew, Skin So Soft, Avon Solutions, Advance Techniques Hair Care, Avon Naturals, and Avon Wellness.
Avon, the company for women, is a leading global beauty business with over $8 billion in annual revenue. As the world's largest direct seller, Avon markets to women in well over 100 countries through over five million independent Avon Sales Representatives, who earn more than $3 billion annually. Avon has more than one billion annual Customer transactions.
The sign-up fee is only $10.00 and Representatives receive their commission up front, so there is no waiting for a check from the company. Avon also offers personal and online training and support.

WAHMZONE MONTHLY ARTICLE
Okay, so you may not think of yourself as an entrepreneur, but if you own your own business, started a company, or work from home, that's exactly what you are! And that's a good thing!
Now, all entrepreneurs are not necessarily successful. But the great news is the potential for success is always within reach. As you read this month's article, grab hold of these principles and take your business (and entrepreneurship) to a new level!
Characteristics of an Entrepreneur
By Laurie Neumann
Have you wondered if you have the characteristics to become a successful entrepreneur?
The trend today is toward people wanting to be an entrepreneur. And why not? It offers fulfillment, flexibility and freedom.
Let's look at some of the characteristics of an entrepreneur that are important to success.
• Motivation – you need to be self-motivated as you will not have a boss looking over your shoulder to make sure you get your work done. You’re the boss and need to find the motivation within yourself.
• Willing to invest – there will be some financial investment in a business. It doesn’t have to be a big amount, especially with an online business, but you must be willing to invest what is needed.
• Keep learning – it is essential to keep learning and growing. This keeps you up-to-date on what is going on and also keeps you in a position where people will come to you for information.
• Integrity – this is vital to having a solid business. Do not try to “get away” with things just to make a few dollars. Always take the high road when dealing with clients and customers.
• Perseverance – all business owners go through slow times when the business isn’t doing as well as you would like or picking up as quickly as you had hoped. You will need to persevere through those times to get to the good times.
• Communication skills – you will need to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in written word. These are skills that can be honed and improved.
• Learn from mistakes – you cannot let mistakes that you make do you in. You need to be able to pick yourself, learn from the mistakes and go forward.
As an entrepreneur myself, these are the characteristics I have found essential to be an entrepreneur. These traits will make the difference between someone who wants to "try it to see if it works" and someone who becomes a successful entrepreneur.
Is it always easy? No, but it is highly rewarding. Remember that it does not have to be a "one-man show." Get help from a coach or mentor along the way. This really helps keep motivation up.
Take inventory of your own strengths and compare them to the characteristics we have talked about here. Do you think you have what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur? If so, take the next step and get started in a home based business.
